Come Thou Fount Sheet Music Easy Piano
An easy piano version of the hymn "Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing!" This hymn has a beautiful melody and wonderful words. If you are at a beginner or intermediate level on the piano, you can play Come Thou Fount with this easy sheet music!
Come Thou Fount has always been a favorite hymn of mine. The melody is just one of those catchy tunes that stays with you, but it is still flowy and beautiful.
Plus, the melody is even more lovely with the words, calling us to remember God's grace and the fountain of blessings He has bestowed on us. Comparing God's love and blessings to a fountain and a stream is certainly a fitting analogy.

Easy Version (Key Of D)
The first version keeps everything nice and simple. The left hand is limited to D, A, and G chords while the right hand plays the melody. This is perfect for adult beginners, or children in levels 1 or 2.
Intermediate Piano Solo
The intermediate-advanced version is also in the key of D, but adds in a lot more movement in the left hand and chords in the right hand. This is a very pretty, flowy version!
Come Thou Fount Piano Notes/Key
In the traditional hymnal, Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing is in the key of D. Since this is a relatively easy key to play in, I kept both my arrangements in this key.
As you learn this song, don't forget to think about dynamics and technique! Here are a few notes to keep in mind:
- The right hand has the melody, so don't let the left hand overpower it
- There is a tag at the end of the music with the notation "ritardando." This means to slow down for a more dramatic ending. Don't skip this!
- You can repeat the music several times to play all the different verses. If you do this, try playing it louder one time and softer another.
Chords & Lyrics
Come Thou Fount includes very simple chords to play on the piano—nothing too difficult.
The main chords used in the key of D are D major, G major, and A major. However, advanced versions will use more intricate chords. In the intermediate sheet music above, I included B minor along with D/A.
If you are doing How Great Thou Art in a band, you will probably want to find a simple chord chart in the key of D.
Here are the lyrics:
Verse 1
Come Thou fount of every blessing
Tune my heart to sing Thy grace
Streams of mercy never ceasing
Call for songs of loudest praise
Teach me some melodious sonnet
Sung by flaming tongues above
Praise the mount, I'm fixed upon it
Mount of Thy redeeming love
Verse 2
Here I raise my Ebenezer
Here by Thy great help I've come
And I hope by Thy good pleasure
Safely to arrive at home
Jesus sought me when a stranger
Wandering from the fold of God
He to rescue me from danger
Interposed His precious blood
Verse 3
Oh, to grace how great a debtor
Daily I'm constrained to be
Let Thy goodness like a fetter
Bind my wandering heart to Thee
Prone to wander, Lord I feel it
Prone to leave the God I love
Here's my heart, oh take and seal it
Seal it for Thy courts above
